If you've updated from version 4 of Layerslider to version 5 - there are two steps worth doing.
Step 1
Go to Layerslider > Click on the Homepage Slider and then Slider Settings
Ensure a Canvas width of 1100 is entered
Step 2
In the same location go to Default Options and under Background size, make sure Cover is selected from the dropdown.
